The collection consists of about 6,000 items and its roots lie in the studies and travels of Franca Meo. It includes dresses, accessories, hats, handkerchiefs, umbrellas, fans, gloves, trinkets, underwear and homewear, holy vestments, working instruments, children’s clothing and games, spanning the period from the eighteenth century to the birth of high fashion in the twentieth century. The museum also has a collection of ethnic clothes from the 19th and 20th centuries.
